The ACCEX network facilitates shared resources among 18 different American cultural centers, including cooperative programs, the exchange of ideas, and funding opportunities. These centers boast development plans to increase bilateral cooperation between new Chinese and American universities in the coming years.

What is an ACC?

Each American university has 1 or more Chinese university partner(s).

Each Chinese university in the network has an American cultural center (ACC) on its campus. These centers are individually funded, though all have received support from the U.S. Department of State.

Each ACC has its own unique approach involving creative programs, outreach activities, exhibits, lectures, and performances.

ACCs help teachers and students to go beyond depictions in American pop culture; instead using literature, arts, history, philosophy, religion, and other academic disciplines to create a more accurate understanding of American culture and everyday life.

ACC leaders come together annually at the ACCEX Conference in China to discuss challenges and successes.
